~ MY REVIEW ~
**3.5 stars**
Beloved was a simple, sweet, and thoughtful story. It didn't stretch my brain so much ... just an enjoyable read! Robin Lee Hatcher seems to mostly write books like that; stories that call you back and make it easy for you to open them up and keep reading! *smiles*
Beloved is a third installment in the Where the Heart Lives series, coming after Belonging and Betrayal. I actually haven't read Betrayal, but that fact didn't seem to mess up the story any for me.
A young woman was carelessly abandoned by her husband whom she loved. Now, years later, when he's been declared dead in war, and she's about to announce her engagement to another man, she gets the chance to forgive ...
Robin weaves a gently thought-provoking story, with just a bit of suspense mixed in. There was a little more details concerning some relationships than I cared for, but it wasn't over the top. I appreciated the spiritual depth of Beloved, and how her characters really searched out God and His will. It was also interesting and neat the way Robin told all the background story without piling it on all at once and boring her readers.
So while Beloved didn't make my favorite list, it was still an enjoyable and lovely read.
