The Liebster Award x 2

Hi, readers! Today I'm going to be doing The Liebster Award! I'll be answering two sets of questions, since I was tagged by both Natasha @ Simple Things and LaKaysha @ Calico and Lace. Thank you, my dears! ^_^

So, onto The Liebster Award post!

RULES

  • Thank the person who nominated you
  • Answer the 11 questions they gave you
  • Name 11 facts about yourself
  • Nominate 11 bloggers to do this tag, and let them know
  • Give them 11 questions to answer

Questions From Natasha:

1. What's a song you like to listen to when you're in a melancholy mood?

Okay, I'll be honest, this question totally stumped me. What do I listen to when I'm feeling melancholy?? If I'm feeling really down, I might listen to something with a harder beat or really raw & emotional such as Paralyzed by NF.

Melancholy mood ... let's go with Broken Prayers by Riley Clemmons.

2. What is the best movie you've watched so far this year?

Hmm, I don't believe I've really watched any movies this year except for Beverly Lewis's The Reckoning and an episode of Victoria, neither of which stood out very much to me. So I'll just mention Desert Dancer {2015}, which I watched awhile ago and found to be really intriguing and emotional. I LOVE DANCE. <333

(scene from Desert Dancer)

3. Morning or night person?

Night owl, for sure. I usually come alive at night. Though, if I'm the first one up in the morning and can have some quiet time to myself, I enjoy mornings.

4. Favorite insect?

Um ... Butterflies. Fireflies. One of those! *winks*

(found on pixabay.com)

5. What is one of your dreams?

To be involved in youth/young adult ministries. To be a wife & mother. To publish more books. (You didn't say just one, did you? *winks*)

6. How many cousins do you have? {yes, I copied this question ;P}

Fifty-eight first cousins, I believe! *heart warms at the thought of all of them*

7. Favorite type of shoes?

Heels! I love classy pumps and fashionable heels. And vintage-style.

8. Five singers you love?

I don't exactly love singers/bands. The only one I can think of is Lauren Daigle. But I love songs! Ones from Micah Tyler. Tenth Avenue North. Hollyn. Ryan Stevenson.

9. What did you do right before writing this blog post?

Ate lunch. Wrote a book review.

10. What is your favorite type of meat?

Beef, probably. I like a good old-fashioned hamburger!

11. If you could do anything for a day, what would you do?

Hang out with a group of close friends! -Going to the beach, or walking through the forest, or going to a big, old library, or eating at some cool restaurant.

1. What is one thing you wish you could have done in the past?

Pursued dance!

2. Favorite drink?

Half-lemonade, half-sweet tea. Or Kombucha.

3. What is your nightly ritual/what do you do to unwind before bed?

I don't always do a very good job unwinding ... oops. But lately I've been reading before bed, which is great. I usually finish up stuff on my computer and shut it off. Then maybe have a snack and chat with some of the fam for a bit. Brush & floss my teeth and settle down with a book. I'm currently reading Keturah by Lisa T. Bergren and Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst.

4. Do you workout?

Erm. I started working out this past summer ... I've been doing better than I ever have! Definitely gained some muscle. *grins* But haven't been keeping on top of my work out routine lately. Last few days I've just been doing kettlebell swings.

(Elizabeth Bennet from "Pride and Prejudice")

7. What song do you listen to when you're in a good mood?

Perhaps Start a Fire by Unspoken.

I guess I don't always particularly enjoy doing dishes.

11. Who is your favorite fictional hero? (as in a male)

Oh my ... how can I pick just one? I'm going to with Lt. Wyatt Paxton from The Sea Before Us. *heart eyes* He is wonderful, godly, gentle, and truly a hero. Read my review of Sarah Sundin's latest WWII-era novel HERE!

    1. I agree, Victoria! Ooh, that sounds fun too! :D

A fellow night owl! Yay! =D Pride and Prejudice is just the best, isn't it? Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy. <3333 I need to watch it again!

  3. Little Women and Anne of Green Gables. <3333 love both those books, so much.
I love all the Anne books, actually! Green Gables and Rilla of Ingleside are my favorites of the series I think, though.

You crave Salt and Vinegar, too?! *gasp*
I absolutely love salt and vinegar chips! So does Josiah. That's our "treat" and something we enjoy getting and sharing together. So yummy.

Mary has been in the family forever, hasn't it? None of my family actually have that name though *shrugs*
Liberty has the middle name, Ann, after great-Grandma, "MaryAnn" though!

    1. I am also quite a bit Scandinavian, through my Dad. He's pretty much half Finnish and half Norwegian, with a dash of Irish in there.

My Mom, though? She is Finn from the Matson side, though not a whole ton, like most people we know.
My Grandma was actually basically half English (straight from Royalty) with some Finnish, Dutch, possibly some Norwegian?
My Grandpa is German, Swedish, Crow Indian, and Scottish.

Me? I am a little bit of everything LOL

    2. I've really enjoyed the entire "Anne of Green Gables" series, except I haven't read Rilla of Ingleside yet! Must get to that! ^_^

Yes, I do!! I don't know what it is, but cool that you share the craving! ;D Ah, salt and vinegar chips ... *starts craving them* That's so great that you and Josiah both love them!

It certainly has! It feels kind of special to me to share a middle name with my mom and grandma, and therefore sort of be named after great-Grandma MaryAnn! I think her mom's name was Marie and I just count her in, as well. ;)
Neat that Liberty's named after her, too! ^_^

My dad's mostly Finnish ... at least that's what they say. My mom has a fair amount of Finnish, too. But my grandma did that DNA testing or whatever and found a few other things. I think they traced to some Native Americans who were actually of Asian decent or something? I'd have to ask her again. (I believe these Indians are mentioned in a Louie L'amour book).

English! That's cool! :) Crow Indian and Scottish also sound intriguing.

I believe I also have some Irish, English, Swedish, French, and a little African, I think. Probably mostly Finnish, but a little bit of everything else? ;D Hehe. Anyway, learning about ancestry and all that is SO interesting to me!

  4. Oh, I'm so glad you did this <3
Every single on of those movies you named.... *hugs them all to chest* Love them!
And I'm not too particularly fond of dishes, either, especially since we wash our by hand. So time consuming.
Like Felicity already said, I'm a mixture of a lot of things. lol
I think it's safe to say we are mostly Scandinavian, but there's a lot tossed in there. *wink*
I always liked to lay claim to the English and Crow Indian side, as well as the Irish, but I'm proud of all my heritage. ;)

    1. Thank you for tagging me, LaKaysha! It was fun! <3

They're all so amazing, aren't they? I must watch them all again! ^_^

Ugh, washing by hand is time consuming, indeed!! We have a dishwasher now, but there have been a couple different times when we didn't.

Yep! ;) It's so interesting to learn about ancestors and all the different places they came from, hey?
It is fun! :D I've always been intrigued by Ireland, but I don't know that the percentage of Irish I have is very significant, so I don't really lay claim to it, haha. ;)

  5. Love these! I'm also a night owl, and butterflies and fireflies are my favorites too! How neat that your middle-name has come down all that way -- that's so special! :) And ah, Scandinavian! Must be where you get your lovely blonde hair from! ^_^ Hurray for P&P and Cinderella -- such fun movies!

Thanks for tagging me, dear! I hope you are doing well! <3

    1. Yay! Fireflies are so fun, and butterflies so gorgeous! I'm excited for summer just because of them! :D

Yes, it is special. It kind of makes me feel like I have something treasured from them ... their name! :)

Aw, thank you, my dear! <33 Yes, there are a lot of blonde-haired, blue-eyed people amongst my family and relatives!

I agree! "Cinderella" awakened the inner princess in me, and "Pride & Prejudice" is just so achingly beautiful ... and simply a great tale of family, life, and love! ^_^

You're very welcome, Deborah! I am doing pretty well. <33 Hope you are, too!!
