The Songs, Movies, and Books Tag

I was tagged by Sam @ Books and Arrows for The Songs, Movies, and Books Tag. This definitely looks fun and I'm excited to do it, so let's get on with the answers! *smiles*

(If you haven't been on Books and Arrows at sambookarrow.blogspot.com, it features book posts, fun tags, movie talk, and more. Check it out!)

1. A song that describes you in some way

Hmm, I don't know. I suppose I'll go with this song by Kari Jobe; because it's often, in my anxiety, that I need to call out to God to steady my heart.

Steady My Heart by Kari Jobe
" ... lover of my soul, healer of my scars. You steady my heart. "

2. A movie that inspires you

Lots. ^_^ The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe {2005} and War Room {2015} are two that really stir my soul. Catching Fire {2013} is one that inspires me to write because there's so much complex emotion.

3. A book that the main character is like you

I'm going to say Azalea? She's the eldest sister in a fairy tale/fantasy novel called Entwined, by Heather Dixon. There are many elements about her that I feel I can relate to. (It's an amazing read, by the way. Read my fangirling review HERE.)

4. A song that you love

Idols by Jessa Anderson

O'Lord by Lauren Daigle

5. A movie you love

Love's Enduring Promise {2004}. ^_^ Willie and Missie! <333 Western/prairie romance. Family drama. Faith. Kind of a "coming of age" story for the sweet Missie Davis. (Just a side note, if you haven't read the "Love Comes Softly" series by Janette Oke, you must! ^_^)

6. A book you love

Whoa, what kind of question is this, Sam??? *winks* Alright, how about I pick a favorite "historical read" and favorite "fantasy read" from last year? Sound like a plan?
Historical: The Reluctant Duchess {Ladies of the Manor #2} by Roseanna M. White
(Read my review HERE)

Fantasy: (okay, this was harder than I thought. Let's just go with this one. Though Samara's Peril, Defy, and King's Folly are saying this is totally not fair. *winks*) A Branch of Silver, A Branch of Gold by Anne Elisabeth Stengl
(Read my review HERE)

7. A song you do not like

Um, I don't really know. Some of the secular songs I unintentionally hear are annoying.

8. A movie you do not like

There are a couple movies I can think of that I highly dislike, but I don't even like to talk about them because they affected me so negatively. (I cried myself to sleep after watching one of them! O.O)

Some other examples are those low-budget Christian movies that are just cheesy, historically inaccurate, and have really bad acting ... yeah, they aren't even worth watching in my opinion.
(But then there are INCREDIBLE independently-filmed Christian movies, such as War Room, October Baby, Beyond the Mask, etc.)

9. A book you do not like

The Siren by Kiera Cass

10. A song that makes you happy

Fireflies by Owl City. It has more of an upbeat tune, and just reminds me of certain happy times in my life.

Sparrows by Jason Gray

11. A movie that freaked you out

Well, I generally don't watch movies that freak me out. I will say that The Jungle Book {2016}, while fantastic, was really intense! That tiger sure freaked me out! Meep!

12. A book that made you cry

Anything by Anne Elisabeth Stengl, for sure. And I know there's been many others, but I just can't think of them right now. I love books that make you cry tears of happiness, or tears because your soul was so very touched. ^_^

13. A song you listen to a lot when you were younger

Wee Sing Bible Songs. ^_^ And Third Day, Newsboys, and some country songs because my dad listened to them.

14. A movie you watched a lot when you were younger

How young are we talking? When I was around 8-10 years old, I really loved Felicity: An American Girl Adventure (still do! *grins*) and Little House on the Prairie.

The only movie I remember re-watching and re-watching is Mr. Frumble's New Cars and the like. Haha! *grins*

15. A book you read a lot when you were younger

The Hardy Boys by Franklin Dixon, Nancy Drew Mystery Stories by Carolyn Keene, and Sisters in Time (by various authors). I read through the whole Sisters in Time series more than once.

16. A song that irritates you

I really don't know, haha! I only listen to music I enjoy. I guess sometimes I hear songs at stores that breed discontentment or give me a yucky feeling inside because of the words or tone ... and that irritates me ... that people feel the need to blare such stuff in my ears!

17. A movie that kept you on the edge of your seat

Probably The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. It's been awhile since I watched it ...

18. A book that left you breathless

Entwined by Heather Dixon, Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson, Aire by Lena Goldfinch, A Voice in the Wind by Francine Rivers, Golden Daughter by Anne Elisabeth Stengl, To Darkness Fled by Jill Williamson, and Black Tiger by Sara Baysinger ... to name just a few. *winks*

    2. Thanks, Felicity! :) I watched the Felicity movie, (for the first time, I believe), with two of my cousins when I was about ten ... and we had a mini tea party with our American Girl dolls! :D <3
