Some Doings...

Just felt like doing a random post today. So... good morning! How's your day going? :) Mine is going relatively well. I'm looking forward to sitting out in the sun, going through Silver Rose, once I finish with this post and my daily devotionals!

Writing & EditingSpeaking of stories, A Dream Not Imagined is coming along well. I just need to hear back from one last beta reader, and then I can change everything that needs to be changed, read through it one or two more times, and start the publishing process!!! =) I'm so excited!! If you haven't noticed.

And yeah, then there's Silver Rose. As I mentioned above, I'm going through that. Trying to cut down the word count. Making sure everything makes sense and flows nicely storywise. All that. I grow elated and discouraged by turn. A writer's problem, I'm told. If you want to know how I feel, just read the content of one or both of these links:

(Writers, do definitely read those...they're hilariously yet terribly true).

Reading. *Sigh* After finishing the epic Draven's Light by Anne Elisabeth Stengl, I'm having the hardest time getting into any other book!! I'm currently reading By Darkness Hid by Jill Williamson and Swept to Sea by Heather Manning. About 20% into both. And while they're interesting enough, they just aren't holding my attention for long. So yeah...reading slump! Which is the worst, :(

But then I find exciting new covers and that makes me a little bit happier! ;p Check these out:

What think you of those lovlies?? :D

Blog Stuff. I updated my About Me tab here on my blog...if you wanted to know. Also, I figured out how to get rid of the random white highlighting that has insisted on appearing on my posts lately. I'm SO THRILLED! I don't know, it just feels like a huge burden off my shoulders! XD

I have some exciting blog posts to-be-published soon! One of them being my Faithful Fridays magic post! That will be up this Friday. I'm simultaneously looking forward to it and dreading it. Ha! Hopefully we'll just have some good conversations following!!

Also, I have some cover reveals and blog tour posts coming up! Yay!! Oh, and who's excited for the Resistance Anniversary Ball on Facebook??? Nine more days! :D

So I want to know...what doings are happening in your life? What books are you reading or finished recently? Writing? Editing?

     Blessings!! <3 :)

  1. Totally squealed when I saw this post! Hey, there's my cover! Thanks so much, Shantelle!

    1. Yay! Your welcome! :) I'm excited to read Dare when I get the chance!

  2. Yay, doings! :D

Ohhhh yes, those Tangled things are extremely relatable! Us poor writers are such conflicted souls. ;)

I've been depressingly busy, but this evening I did get back to working hard on my notes for A Dream Not Imagined--but didn't manage to finish them yet... *collapses* It's been a long few days... -_- I'm working on it, though! :) *cuddles story* It's even more lovely on the second read. :D

Aww, I'm sorry you're in a reading slump. :( I think By Darkness Hid will pick up the pace eventually. :) I hope you get out of your slump soon!!! *hugs* (I feel a bit as if I'm in a slump, even though I'm in the middle of 7 books right now. Yikes! This is disturbing. XD)

EEP! What pretty covers! :D I have been fangirling about the Golden Braid one for like a month already but it hasn't gotten old. XD ALL THE PWETTY. Thanks for sharing! :)

Love hearing what's up with you! Hope your editing continues to go well! <3

    1. I know, right?? ;) I just laugh and sigh whenever I read the Tangled things. They're so funny, and yet while I'm reading them I'm thinking, "Wow, so absolutely true!!" Haha.

Aww, glad to know its lovely! :)) Look forward to hearing what else you have to say!! And I hope your days will get less busy!! A nice break! :)

Haha, seven you get a little panicky when that happens? I think I usually feel a bit anxious, like, "Oh boy, I'm in over my head now!" Haha! XD Hope you will get through each and every one! :D As for me... thanks! I hope I get out of it soon too! Yeah, I have been reading lately, but I think I will eventually get more into By Darkness Hid!

Your welcome!! Yes, Melanie Dickerson's covers are always so gorgeous!! Such fairytale feel!! :D

Great, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

Thank you!! I was actually watching some youtube videos by this random Christian guy, and I realized something vital that need to be changed in Silver Rose through them. So yeah, it actually was quite exciting!! :D

      Blessings! <3

    2. Yeah, I do get kinda stressed when I'm in several books for a long time; feel like I'll never get out of them! XD I'm sure I will though, it just might take awhile. ;)

Ooh, what videos?? :D That sounds awesome. :) Blessings on your edits and changes!! <3

    3. Aw, I understand how that is!! Well, best of luck!! :D

The youtube channel (or whatever its called) is chaseGodtv. Someone shared one of his videos on twitter, and I've really enjoyed watching them since then! The particular one that inspired me to do some editing is titled 'Can I loose my salvation'? But I also enjoyed his videos on secular music, dating, and encouraging men to pursue, :D :) Great stuff!

      Thank you!! Blessings! <3

  3. The Tangled true. I'm looking forward to your magic post. Magic in Christian fantasy is a very tricky subject that can be quite controversial. I wrote a post on it too, not too long ago:

It put a big smile on my face to see my book in your list. :D

    1. Yes, it is! :D

Thanks! I'm nervous...but really feeling like God put it on my heart, so yeah. :) It is tricky... And I really enjoyed reading your post on magic, great job!! :)

Yay! I'm excited to read it someday!! :D :)

  4. I am excited to read your post on magic, I love reading different peoples opinions. I am in a reading slump and a writing slump. I hope they pass :)

    1. Great! I hope you will enjoy tomorrow's post then! :)

Aww, sad. No fun, these writing and reading slumps. Yes, hopefully we'll both get out of them soon!! :)

  5. I comepletely understand! I've become quite busy as of late. So many books to read and review, house hunting, and last night I got my first story idea in the longest time. Now I just have to sit down to brainstorm, outline, and discover who my characters are.

    1. Cool! Books to read and review can be fun...and stressful. :p I don't have any of those books at the moment, but am supposed to be getting two in the mail! :)

House hunting, ooh! Hope that's going well! ...I might be doing that this winter...

And yay for story ideas!! My writing has been in a definite slump, so I hope yours is going better! :)
