Beta Readers for a Short Story

Today I am stepping into new territory as a writer, and I have to say I'm quite nervous and have little idea of how to go about this.

So here it is. I'm looking for a few beta readers for my short story with a Cinderella theme, A Dream Not Imagined.

With my artistic sister's work and some tips and help from experienced authors, a cover is starting to come together for this fairytale story. So yes. I'm beginning the process of publishing my first book. EEP!

Since Silver Rose is such big project and its going to be most likely quite awhile longer before that's published; I decided I may as well publish A Dream Not Imagined since its pretty much ready! And it's just one of my short stories that I really kind of fell in love with, :-)

A Dream Not Imagined is a short, non-magical fairytale retelling, based loosely on Cinderella. It's about 20,000 words long. You can read more about it on my tab: A Dream Not Imagined.

So, if you are interested in beta reading this story, please email me at shantelle@truevine.net with your name, blog/website, favorite genre, and a reason why you'd like to be a beta reader for this story.

Basically what I'd like my beta readers to do is read through A Dream Not Imagined and give your honest opinion about the story. Point out writing errors/breaks in the flow of the story with kindness and sensitivity, :-) And you're also welcome to mark any editing errors you might notice. I'm not looking for critiquing at this point; but rather polishing. And of course I'd love if you mentioned A Dream Not Imagined or me to your friends and family if you enjoy the story! :-)

So that's that. I would love to have your support/hear your thoughts as I'm planning to brave the world of a published writer! Any tips for me?? :-)

    1. I understand, Claire. Sometimes I feel like I'm getting in over my head with the things I sign up for, and I'm sure you're much more busy than I am! :-)

      But thanks!! :-)
