A spectacular ending to the LADIES OF THE MANOR series by Roseanna M. White! A Lady Unrivaled was both exciting and dangerous, as well as tender and thoughtful. It was deeply emotional, exploring some tough situations. And a very unlikely, very sweet romance. All the characters were amazing and I loved them! (Besides the creepy villains, that is!) Though the middle part got a little slow, I overall adored this book. I wholly recommend to adults who enjoy a good suspenseful, Edwardian tale!
Can't wait to read more novels from this talented author!

Oh my heart! I loved it! Book two of the
LADIES OF THE MANOR series by Roseanna M. White, The Reluctant Duchess does
not disappoint! It was heart-wrenching. Suspenseful and intriguing. Sweet and
soul-felt. This authors writes with vivid characters and rich, heart tugging
faith themes. Not to be missed!
Set in Scotland and
England, early 1900s, this story follows The Lost Heiress and
spotlights the life of Brice, the duke of Nottingham. And also Rowena, a young
Scottish woman who has had something precious ripped from her and knows not who
to turn to. And then there's the Fire Eyes ... still inspiring chaos and violence.
Brice and Rowena must
decide who to truth, and learn how to love, in order to make it through the
challenging trials and unexpected twists that await them.
If possible, I might have
liked this book even better than The Lost Heiress. The story was so
poignant. So touching. So meaningful. I was crying at one point, feeling the
agony in my chest; sighing hopefully at another; and grinning foolishly at the
end because it was just so precious. The healing. The love. The choice.
The discoveries that these characters make about God, love, and themselves are
truly thoughtful and heart-touching. Just so beautiful! The Reluctant
Duchess isn't a light read, but I think it's so worth it because of
that! It's a tale of tragedy and pain, trials and darkness, discovery and
perseverance and ... love.
There were a couple
scenes that got a little edgy, in my opinion. I would
recommend to at least eighteen and up, due to that, and generally adult topics
and content. (view spoiler)
Yes. I loved The Reluctant Duchess. Faith-filled historical
romance with a dash of suspense! LADIES OF THE MANOR is not a series you want
to miss! I simply can't wait to read A Lady Unrivaled!

I'm in love with this book! The Lost Heiress by Roseanna M. White wasso good. Set during 1910 (think Downton Abbey), it's a intriguing tale of thrilling mystery and heartwarming romance. I adored it so much! With snatches of humor and moments of soul-stirring faith, it kept captured my attention and delighted my bookish heart! ^_^ Not to mention, the book itself (cover, etc.) are gorgeous!
I can hardly wait to read The Reluctant Duchess, Book Two in this series, LADIES OF THE MANOR!

Well, this one was really fun! Alex O'Donnell and the 40 Cyber Thieves ... short and adventurous! Action with computers and cyber criminals! Another modern-day fairy tale retelling to adore! These characters are fabulous! ^_^ And their adventures unforgettable - a splash of fairy dust in normal young person's life (well, fairly normal. *winks*)
Read this series, peoples. You surely won't regret it! Knights and maidens, ninjas and princesses. Villains and dashing rescues. Intrigue. Fun. Breathless moments of suspense. Thrilling tales! *grins*

I really enjoyed this, the fourth installment to the A FAIRY TALE RETOLD series! It was interesting and thoughtful; a poignant look at father/daughter relationships, religion and rebellion. The romance, just budding at the end, was really sweet. All the sisters, fun. It had it's darker side, but nothing marginal. (Caution: there may have a been a minor swear or two). A good lesson, overall. I wish there would have been more on how a relationship with Jesus is what changes the heart and makes the soul long to do good and live in the light ... but the author did talk about that in her end-notes anyway! *smiles*
Overall, very much liked it! I don't know that I'll ever tire of these modern-day, magic-less, but delightful fairy tale retellings! ^_^

1. What is a hyped book that you want to read?
Let's see ... amongst the Christian historical-fiction reading community, I've been hearing good things about The Lady and the Lionheart by Joanne Bischof. A lot of people seem to be gushing about it and favorite-ing the couple; and since I've loved the three books (and one novella) that I've read by Joanne Bischof thus far, I'm really excited to get my hands on a copy of The Lady and the Lionheart!
Also, I keep hearing about Can't Help Falling by Kara Isaac from here and there and everywhere. It sounds fantastic too! Fans of Narnia will like it? Count me in! ^_^
2. When/why did you start your blog?
I started A Writer's Heart May 23rd, 2014. Why? Because I wanted to be a part of the reading/blogging/writing community I saw online. Wanted to get my name out there a bit before I started publishing novels. Wanted to write. Wanted to connect. Wanted to share about my love of books. *smiles*
My other blog, Lady Grace ~ A Quiet and Gentle Spirit, I started September of last year. That one I started because I wanted to get into a more regular schedule of posting thoughts on faith and life struggles and that sort of thing.

I'm actually visiting my family right now ... and so my poor bookshelf is across the country from me. (I miss my books!!) But I'll share an old video of me in front of my bookshelf! *grins* (Hey, anyone want to see an updated Bookshelf Tour when I get back to my books? Just wondering, haha!)

I've actually been in kind of an odd mood for the last couple months, and haven't been listening to much. But three songs I have looked up recently would be:

6. If you could live in one fictional world, which world would it be?
Well, I love the world of E'veria from Serena Chase's EYES OF E'VERIAseries. Something about the mix of fantasy and fairy tale is so whimsical and intriguing. Plus ... the characters. <3
7. What are three things on your bucket list?
Publish my fantasy novel, Silver Rose.
Go on a road trip with friends.
Grow closer to Jesus.
8. Share the last sentence you wrote in your WIP.
This is from my third (fourth?) attempt at starting Diamond's Quest, sequel to Silver Rose. My first attempt ended at about fifty pages, and then I decided I needed a different main character. And then I restarted again. And maybe again. And again? I added a new main character just recently, haha, because of changes I made in my last rewrite of Silver Rose. *ahem* Anyway ...

9. What is the best book you've read this month? What was the worst?
Grace and the Preacher by Kim Vogel Sawyer! It was so sweet! ^_^ My first five-star rating of the year!
And I suppose my worst read would have to be The Dream Dress by Janice Thompson. It just wasn't really my thing.
10. What's a fact about you that other people might be surprised to know?
I've been wheat-free and peanut-free for probably around five years. And I recently became dairy-free, around May of last year. Thus far, I'm finding it the hardest to be dairy-free. I mean, you can't have ice-cream, or strawberry milkshakes, or Greek yogurt, or whip cream, or CHEESE, etc., etc., etc. ... Even most of the chocolate bars and yummy chips have dairy in them. It just seems easier to find substitutes for wheat than for dairy.
Anyway. Sorry for that tirade, haha. It's not that bad. Just takes getting used to.
