A Captain’s Heart wasn’t my favorite out of the Pirates & Faith series, but it was sweetly touching overall. There’s just something about Molly Evangeline’s novels. I started and put down book after book until I got to A Captain’s Heart … it just drew me in. I don’t know; there’s something I like about her writing style. *smiles*

Now that the real adventurous parts of Will and Skye’s stories have been told, we meet a new character in the third book of this series. Kyle Bryden. He’s a godly young captain with a one sweet sister in the whole of his ruthlessly selfish family. This novel takes us on his journey of frustration, fear, tender moments, and terrifying escapades. And along the way, he may just meet up with a lovely young woman …

While different than the first two books as we’re focusing on a new set of characters (though the old ones do make appearances), we still have pirates, sea-faring adventures, and sweet love stories. I felt this book didn’t have as much action perhaps as the previous ones, but it still was a nicely-rounded story overall.

The faith theme was deep and touching, unlike a lot of books these days it seems. I probably already mentioned before, but Molly Evangeline is very good about teaching meaningful lessons and really having her characters show their statuses as Christians through their godly actions. They seek God. They surrender to Him. They love Him. That’s truly awesome to see in fiction!

It was fun to meet the new array of characters. I really felt for Kyle in his tough family situation! It was so real and excruciating. I was happy to see that all work out nicely and emotionally. Elizabeth and Travis were cute. I liked their secondary story. Mariah was sweet as well. It was good to see Will and Skye so happy! Eep! And meet with Captain Daniel again a few times. Louise was infuriating! Grr! As were Kyle and Elizabeth’s family time and again. All in all, I felt the emotion and tension quite vividly. Well-done characters.

The story was its own overall, yet did bear quite a few similarities to the first two stories. I wouldn’t call it exactly a bad thing; but for me, I think it just makes me like the first book the best.

A few sweet kisses. Some slightly more intense scenes than the previous books. I would say perhaps twelve and up. My young sister loved the first book of the PIRATES & FAITH series, so I imagine she will continue to enjoy the rest, including this one!

Cute story. I was happy with how everything worked out. I’m excited to read the next (last) book in this series … Emma James’s story!

Every Tear follows nicely after The Pirate Daughter’s Promise, bringing Will and Skye on another pirate-ridden, treasure-hunting, faith-testing adventure. Though I didn’t like it as much as Book One, I enjoyed it; really enjoyed it at some points.

Will and Skye are together in the courtship they’ve wanted for some time now, and Skye is happy with her father at last in her life. Everything is going along quite beautifully, and Will is planning a surprise for his sweetheart …

But mysteries are yet uncovered. William is an orphan, has never known his mother or father. Will he ever get the chance? … And if he does, will ruthless schemes snatch the joy from his grasp before he has a chance to feel it?

I was pleased to be back with the lovable couple of this series, and watch their relationship unfold further. ^_^ Really liked meeting all the new characters as well. Though we have a new, exciting escapade this time, it does run along the same lines as The Pirate Daughter’s Promise. But I still had fun reading Every Tear. It had me quite interested fairly quickly, and I imagine I would have finished it much sooner, except for the fact that a lot of “read and review by a designated time” books interrupted!

I always appreciate, and love, the faith elements of Molly Evangeline’s stories. They seem to have depth every time, and stir my soul. Make me thankful. Bolster my courage to face the unknown. *smiles* The characters of this series have a strong and genuine faith. Lovely.

So with some surprising revelations, lots of action, sweet reunions, and endearing characters, Every Tear continues this faith-filled, pirate-y adventure! Oh, and did I mention that there was a particularly delightful scene involving Will and Skye? *winks and smiles*

Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

You just can't get tired of Molly Evangeline's books! ^_^ I'm happy to report that I started reading her historical series, and have recently finished the first book, The Pirate Daughter's Promise!

I find that I just really like Molly Evangeline/Jaye L. Knight's writings. I read first her MAKILIEN series, then Resistance, the first book for her new fantasy series. And now I just finally finished the first book, The Pirate Daughter's Promise, in her historical series. I really enjoyed it, even with it being her first published book, and perhaps not as polished and perfected as her others.

The Pirate Daughter's Promise was a sweet, exciting adventure with a deep faith theme, tender romances, and little mysterious mixed in. Pirates abound, dangerous ports are visited, fantastic ships sail the seas. Skye is a lovely young woman of eighteen years who has lived at the orphanage since her beloved, former pirate father was hung. She works hard in exchange for a roof over her head; and is sometimes treated cruelly by the orphanage owners, and her wealthy grandfather, who refuses to acknowledge her existence. The thing that holds her together is her faith in God, and also His gift to her in the person of William. But Skye's fairly predictable life is about to change forever. A massive treasure is sought. A kidnapping ensues. An old pirate friend is found. An unimaginable secret is about to be uncovered.

I liked the range of characters. From Skye, to Will, to Matthew, to Kate. There's always secondary characters that tug at your heart in Molly's books! *smiles* I also like the pirates theme, which is softened by faith. This book somewhat reminds me of MaryLu Tyndall's swashbuckling pirate stories! Although, The Pirate Daughter's Promise is definitely written for a younger audience. It was completely enjoyable, sweet and a relatively easy read.

Anyway, I lovely story overall. I am excited to read the next book in this series, Every Tear, and all the others! *smiles*
